According to the ultra-awesome OED (Oxford English Dictionary), Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (a lung disease caused by the inhalation of fine silica dust) is the longest word to appear in an English dictionary with a whopping 45 letters. I dare you to try and say it out loud! P.S. The OED also states that this is a "factitious" word. Anyone know what that means?
